Booking and Bail in California

Whether a person has been arrested for domestic violence, DUI, DWI or any other offense the process is the same. Persons taken into custody by the North Hollywood Police or Sheriff's Department will be held at either the North Hollywood Police Station Jail, Sheriff's Station Jail or will be transfered to the Los Angeles County Jail (IRC) and will be kept there until their first court date called the "Arraignment." Bail is allowed to be posted in any facility 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Before a bail bond is turned in and accepted, the arrestee must pass a background check through "Live Scan", which is a machine that is linked to a county, state and national database. That database will notify the authorities of any possible holds, warrants, or aliases that might prevent release or increase the total bail amount of an arrestee. Once the results of the Live Scan come back from the various government agencies, that person is then "cleared" to bond out. At this time, a jailor will review and accept a Bail Bond for an arrestee and release them on the Bail Bond.

From the time a Bail Bond is turned in, it takes between 30 minutes and 3 hours for a release depending on the facility where the person is being held. Release times do vary based on the workload of the North Hollywood jail's staff as well as the type of facility. Once out, a person will need to complete his or her part of the paper work, take a picture, and make sure to show up to each and every court date thereafter. It is recommended that you hire a North Hollywood criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible.

In addition to being bail bonds agents we are proud members of the North Hollywood community.

North Hollywood is a district in the San Fernando Valley portion of Los Angeles County. It was first established by the Lankershim Ranch Land and Water Company in 1887; when the town was officially formed, it was named Toluca, then renamed Lankershim in 1896 and finally North Hollywood in 1927. In 1903, the city was known as 'The Home of the Peach' and by 1912 the Bonner Fruit Company, the major employer at the time, was canning over one million tons of peaches, apricots and many other fruits. The city is most famous for the 1997 'North Hollywood shootout' which took place between LAPD officers and two armed gunmen who had been caught in the middle of robbing a Bank of America. When the police arrived, they were severely lacking in firepower as compared to the two armed men. The robbers wore full body armor and used armor piercing ammunition. The shootout lasted over an hour and in the end, the two suspects were killed and 15 people were injured, including 10 police officers. The shootout was broadcast on live television and eventually was made into a movie, '44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shoot-Out,' in 2003. The city is home to the NoHo Art District, located near Valley Village. Business and theatre owners formed the idea in 1992 to establish a theatre art district and chose the name NoHo because it would reveal the location and it played off the well-know 'SoHo' in New York City. The district houses contemporary theaters, cafes, shops and art galleries. The district is also home to the largest concentration of music studios west of the Mississippi River. North Hollywood has an branch of the Los Angeles Public Library located there which the residents renamed in 1981 the Amelia Earhart Library. The one-story, mission style brick building which was built in 1929 was rename due to the fact that Earhart, the first woman to attempt to fly solo around the world in 1937, was born in North Hollywood and lived in nearby Toluca Lake in her 20s. The city is also home to the starting point of the Red Line Metro system. The station opened in June 2000 and close to half a million people took advantage of the free rides the first weekend.
